Our Founder

MELISSA A. WOLF, LPCC

Melissa is the clinical director of the Heart-Mind Center, LLC. She is a licensed clinical counselor specializing in reducing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, panic disorders, and trauma resolution.  She has over 20 years of experience in body based therapies which has informed an effective mind/body approach to behavioral health.

Time

Most clients struggling with daily stressors or single episode trauma achieve their goals within 3 to 6 months, unlike traditional methods which can take years or even decades.

Cost

Most insurances accepted including Medicaid and Medicare. Co-pay due at start of session. Self-pay clients $120.00 per 60 minute session. Sliding fee scale available.

Qualifications

Melissa is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) in the states of New Mexico with a PhD in Psychology. Melissa specializes psychophysiology for anxiety and trauma resolution, is a certified EMDR therapist, and trained in hypnotherapy, neurofeedback and biofeedback. She is the founding director of The Heart-Mind Center, LLC, a private practice dedicated to providing cutting edge mind-body modalities supported by scientific research

The mission of the Heart-Mind Center is to go beyond eliminating the debilitating effects of trauma and strives to promote optimal functioning in all areas of your professional and personal life. Melissa is currently available for online therapy only while building a new office in the Edgewood, NM area.

At the Heart-Mind Center, we are specifically equipped to help with behavioral health issues, such as PTSD, anxiety, panic disorders, depression, interpersonal effectiveness, and life challenges that co-occur with insomnia, neck & back pain, fibromyalgia, migraines, IBS and other physical disorders.

 

Change is not easy and it requires compassion, patience and a well-thought out plan to achieve. The Heart-Mind centered approach is skills-based and utilizes a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy and age-appropriate mindfulness skills. PTSD and anxiety can benefit from various cutting edge body-based approaches offered at The Heart-Mind Center such as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Heart Rate Variability (HRV) biofeedback, hypnotherapy and body-focused stress reduction techniques.

 

The Heart-Mind Center accepts referrals and coordinates care with your primary health care professional to create an alliance that supports your optimal wellness and healing.
