At The Heart-Mind Center, we use an eclectic blend of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques. These counseling approaches have been specifically selected for their proven effectiveness in helping with behavioral health issues, such as PTSD, anxiety, panic disorders, depression, grief, sensory integration issues, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion dysregulation.
Often these life challenges co-occur with insomnia, neck & back pain, fibromyalgia, migraines, IBS and other physical disorders. The Heart-Mind Center recognizes that you can’t separate what’s happening in the body from what you are thinking and feeling, and vice versa. Addressing the physical aspects of stress helps reduce the mental discomfort and unhealthy ‘chatter’.
Once we manage our physical stress our mental and emotional negative self-beliefs become easier to identify and shift to a positive perspective that will improve your quality of life.
Change is not easy and it requires compassion, patience and a well-thought out plan to achieve. The Heart-Mind centered approach utilizes a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy and age-appropriate mindfulness skills with EMDR, neurofeedback, HRV biofeedback and body-focused stress reduction techniques.
The Heart-Mind Center accepts referrals and coordinates care with your primary health care professional to create an alliance that supports your optimal wellness and healing.
We encourage you to call or email the center with any questions you may have. We want you to be confident and comfortable when you decide to schedule a session.
